Pakistan Coast Guard Southern Command Commander Lieutenant General Nasir Khan Janjua said Monday that a “jihad” has to be launched against narcotics and terrorism which are destroying the roots of our country.
The lieutenant general was the chief guest at the passing out parade of the 35th batch of the Pakistan Coast Guard. He congratulated the cadets on the “brilliant parade and high quality performance”.
Addressing the cadets, Janjua said that terrorism and narcotics were weakening the country from within and the coast guards had to be prepared to fight against both.
He lauded the efforts of the coast guard to curb narcotics and human smuggling, illegal movements of arms and continuous surveillance of the seas despite limited resources.
