*CM says Punjab government executing 100 megawatt solar project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park from its own resources

*Assures Chinese delegation of speedy completion of the project

The government will leave no stone unturned to ensure speedy completion of solar project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park as generating energy from non-traditional sources is one of the government’s top priorities, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in a meeting with a high level delegation of Zonergy, a renowned Chinese energy company, led by its President Yu Yong.

Issues related to the progress of 900 megawatt solar project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park, Bahawalpur were discussed between the two dignitaries.

Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz said that the Punjab government is executing 100 megawatt project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park from its own resources and this project will start generating energy in the beginning of next year.

He said that energy generating projects are being completed speedily and transparently.

He said that import duty on solar equipments and panels has been abolished for facilitating investors. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has abolished import duty on solar panels and equipments for facilitating national and foreign investors so that they should make maximum investment in solar sector.

The chief minister said that earliest completion of energy projects is one of the top priorities of the government. He said that 900 megawatt project at Bahawalpur will be completed speedily and the government will extend all out cooperation to the Chinese company in this regard. He said that all investment in the solar project of 900 megawatt is of China. He said that all necessary steps including provision of infrastructure have been completed for the project, while directing the authorities to constitute a joint committee for speedy progress.

President of the company Yu Yong said that Chinese company will carry out work speedily according to the vision of chief minister for completing the project within stipulated period.

  1. Good, Sharif Family.. Promote your family business. despite we know that solar is the most expensive compare to other alternate energy sources.. Look at the company Zonergy, they aren't capable of even 1 MW
