Pakistan trends #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhvi to show cross border solidarity after bail to Mumbai attacks main accused, Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi

Pakistanis took to twitter Thursday trending the hashtag #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhvi to show solidarity with Indians after a Pakistani anti-terrorism court granted bail to Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, alleged to have masterminded the massive Mumbai terror attacks in 2008.

The timing is ironic especially because this development takes place two days after the deadliest attack in Peshawar and Pakistan’s renewed resolve to curb all kind of terrorism.

The tragedy brought the people of the two countries together as mass prayers were held across India by schoolchildren and people from all walks of life, even Bollywood celebrities. The Indian Lok Sabha had also observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the young martyrs who had fallen victim to terrorism.

Lakhvi’s bail verdict met with shock and anger from Indian Twitter space with the emergence of hashtag #PakBailsOutTerror which is still trending on Twitter in India.

In response, Aamir Mughal from Pakistan tweeted: “@mughalbha #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhviBail #PeshawarAttack Army public school attack #NeverForget #PakistanDemandsAction”

The gesture was reciprocated by Indian Aditiya @AdiShriram who tweeted: “#PakWithIndiaNoToLakhviBail Glad its trending in Pak. Peace has a chance if the people stand with each other, understand the other’s pain!”

Jayant Kumar @OnlineExpertLiv tweeted: “#PakWithIndiaNotoLakhviBail: A Cross-Border Show of ‘Hashtag Solidarity’ … Humanity wins, terror got defeated.”

Urooj Awan @AwanUrooj said: “people want peace, but gvt of both sides playing self interest game n not want to unite people.not want to peace. #PakWithIndiaNoToLakhviBail”
