The Supreme Court has suspended the decision of the election tribunal (ET) regarding the restoration of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Ghaus Ali Shah’s membership of National Assembly and de-seating of Pakistan People’s Party’s Nawab Ali Wasan.

The court issued these orders on a petition filed by Wasan Ali.

A three-member bench presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Nasir ul Mulk took up the petition for hearing Wednesday.

Abdul Hafiz Pirzada appeared on behalf of Nawab Ali Wasan and Iftikhar Gilani advocate represented Ghaus Ali Shah in the court.

Abdul Hafiz Pirzada took the plea that the ET had given the decision without hearing his client’s stance therefore the decision should be set aside.

The court suspended the decision to the extent of disqualification of Nawab Ali Wasan and restoration of Shah’s membership.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till the last week of January.
