Emirates suspends Peshawar flights

International carrier Emirates Wednesday announced halting flights in and out of Peshawar “until further notice”.

In a short statement, the UAE-based airline said, “We can confirm that we are suspending our flights to Peshawar for operational reasons. This will take effect immediately (from 16 December) until further notice.”

It added that services to other points in Pakistan — Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot, will continue to operate as scheduled.

Reports say that crew of the aircraft leased by the PIA have also expressed their inability to fly to and from Peshawar. To compensate for the suspension of flights, PIA has decided to launch special flights from Peshawar airport to Dubai and Abu Dhabi so that passengers do not face by difficulties.
