A petition against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s announced country-wide shut down on December 18 was filed in the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court on Monday.

The petition will be forwarded to the chief justice of Pakistan for fixation before the bench. The petitioner contended that the PTI’s call was against the constitution and a threat to the life and property of the people.

The petitioner prayed the court to issue a stay order against the PTI call for strike. PTI chief Imran Khan, federal government and provincial governments have been made respondents in the petition.
