A suspected Faisalabad shooter, who shot dead Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker during the party’s protest demonstration, has been arrested.
According to sources, the police have arrested the key accused, who is identified as Ilyas, from Okara.
The suspected shooter, who is said to be associated with a banned outfit, has been taken to undisclosed location for interrogation, they said.
A pistol has also been recovered from the possession of the accused, the sources added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI worker Haq Nawaz was shot dead at Novelty Chowk in Faisalabad on December 8, as PTI was holding anti-government strike in the city under its “Plan C”.
A video of a pistol-wielding man, who was firing shots at Novelty Chowk was broadcast on electronic media, is suspected to be a killer of the PTI worker.
