Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has emphasised political stability and continuity of policies to jump start the economy.

Addressing a conference on Agricultural Growth and Rural Development in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said shutdown and sit-ins will only hamper the pace of progress. He said the nation needs to work day and night to successfully deal with the challenges, such as climate change, law and order, food insecurity and natural calamities. He said the one million temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) who had to leave their houses in the wake of Operation Zarb-e-Azb is another big issue for the government.

Minister for Planning said youth needs to be engaged in productive activities.
