PTI is to be blamed for violence: Zaeem Qadri

Punjab spokesman urges PTI chairman to shun politics of sit-ins

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be responsible if any law and order situation is created in Lahore, said Punjab government spokesman and Punjab Assembly Member (MPA) Zaeem Qadri in a statement issued on Sunday.

He said that the PTI leadership should display a responsible attitude as any attempt to take law into hand will be dealt with an iron hand. He said that there is a right to peaceful protest in democracy but protection of basic rights of citizens and traders is the prime responsibility of the government. He said that metro bus service, educational institutions and offices will remain open.

Qadri said that despite PTI’s provocative activities in Faisalabad, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership displayed extreme restraint. He said that markets remained open till 10 am while traffic was normal on roads but PTI tried to force businessmen to close down their shops and also resorted to violence due to which the situation worsened. He asked PML-N workers to show tolerance and restraint, however PTI should also refrain from violating the law. He said that all political and trade organisations will have to use their influence against miscreants. Qadri said that PTI leaders demand dialogue in their speeches but force closure of bazaars and streets. He said that Khan’s only aim is to create anarchy in the country. He said that in their lust of power, Khan and his cronies are damaging economic interests of the country and the labourers and daily wagers are on the verge of starvation
