Gujranwala Division has achieved 100 percent target by administrating vaccine drops to 2.59 million children during 4th round of anti-polio campaign, said Divisional Commissioner Shamail Ahmad Khawaja on Sunday.
He said that on the special directive of the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, all available resources were geared-up on war footings in all districts of the division and 18,000 functionaries comprising of 5,746 teams in 25 tehsil/towns and 618 union councils were properly covered by administering polio vaccine.
He said that teams contributed a lot to the cause of protecting children from this fatal disease.
The commissioner lauded the role and services rendered by the WHO, DHOs, regional police officer, district co-ordination officers, district police officers and assistant commissioners besides others engaged in this task.
