Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that reestablishment/renovation of Rawalpindi Club and beautification of the city’s Cantonment area will be given priority and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI)’s suggestions will be welcomed in this regard. He said that the chamber is playing a pivotal role in not only strengthening national economy but is also engaged in laudable social service.
He was exchanging these views with a delegation of RCCI led by its President Syed Asad Mashadi at his office on Monday. Former chamber members including Sheikh Shabbir, Najam Rehan, Manzar Khurshid Sheikh, Saboor Malik, Sheikh Hafeez, Khalil Ahmed Noon, Afzal Malik and Sheikh Shehzad Akhtar were also included in the delegation.
The Corps commander appreciated the decision of RCCI Trust to establish a school in Cantonment area for poor in which needy student would get quality education free of cost. He said that such efforts should be praised and business community of the country must follow the foot prints of RCCI. He said that his office will fully cooperate with the chamber and fulfil every possible requirement.
Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Mashadi said that RCCI Trust is keen to make fully functional Cantonment hospital and urged the Corps commander to issue necessary directions in this regard. He said that the business community is willing to actively participate in beautification drive of Cantonment area. He briefed the commander about the functioning of RCCI in detail and also shared future plans of the chamber. Lt Gen Bajwa ensured his full cooperation to RCCI.
