Film education is getting a lot of appreciation these days. Youth is getting enrolled in filmmaking and other communication studies and a hype about doing medical or engineering has come down. Only a few years ago, there was merely any awareness about it in the middle and upper-middle class. Few people were getting film education or were studying abroad.
But even today, when our industry is rising again, there are a lot of hurdles for the recent graduates/students. First one is the absence of student loan in this discipline. As filmmaking is an expensive education, students, who although are good and passionate in this field, have to switch because of the cost.
Then there are hurdles for the graduates. Industry still praises those who study abroad and our local students do not get enough breaks.
Being a media student, I know my classmate and I are making a lot of efforts to give our best in every course. We travel, spend days in the studio and a lot of time skip our meals to get our work done.
Our industry can benefit a lot from this industry. There are still those talented students who need both money and chance to prove their selves.
