MITHI: Malnutrition and other diseases took away 33 lives in the drought-hit Tharparkar region in the last four days, a private news channel reported.
With the new loss of lives , the death toll now mounts to 196 in 69 days. Deaths have mainly occurred in Mithi, Chhachhro, Islamkot, Nangarparkar and other areas of the district.
Sindh government is being criticized for mishandling the situation in the region as no serious steps seem to be taken by the government to mitigate the ailments of people. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has formed a two-member commission to investigate the matter.
