PTI demands Sanaullah’s arrest for Faisalabad riots

ISLAMABAD-

An immediate arrest of former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah was demanded by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday, for allegedly playing a key role in planning and executing Faisalabad riots in which one PTI worker was killed.

Addressing a press conference, PTI spokesperson Shireen Mazari said that there is strong evidence against Sanaullah for planning Faisalabad riots on Monday and added that the former minister has connections with various banned outfits.

The PTI leader also showed pictures and videos to establish an the alleged connection between Sanaullah and a shooter caught on media cameras during the riots.

“Footage of PTI worker killing was broadcasted on media but the key accused has not yet been arrested,” she lamented.

She said the plan to sabotage PTI’s peaceful strike in Faisalabad was prepared in Circuit House, where she added son-in-law of Sanaullah and PML-N member of the National Assembly (MNA) Talal Chaudhry were also present.

Sanaullah, later on, denied all allegations and accused Mazari of ‘lying’ in the press conference.

He said that PTI was not serious about the arrest of the shooter and if it were, it should provide the evidence to police.

He said that the party’s ‘dirty tactics’ could not get him arrested.
