A female health worker was injured after two unidentified armed men fired at her on Charsadda Road in Peshawar on Saturday.
The health worker, identified as Tahira, was waiting at a bus stop to go to work when she was attacked. She was shifted to a nearby hospital, where health officials say she sustained at least two bullet injuries.
A previous attack in Charsadda on polio health workers resulted in injuries to one worker. The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Jamaatul Ahrar faction.
The attack had taken place in Charsadda during Polio Day when a polio worker and a student of tenth-grade were fired upon in Sadar Ghari Shabqadar.
