Police arrest 24 lawbreakers

Under its ongoing drive against anti-social elements, the police arrested 24 lawbreakers including a drunkard, four gamblers and six for their alleged involvement in immoral activities besides recovering 3165 grams charras, 28 bottles of liquor, four pistols 30 bore with 12 rounds and four stolen motorcycles from the possession of the arrested accused.

According to Rawalpindi police spokesman, Gungmandi Police recovered 530 grams charras from the possession of Amir. New Town Police held Hanif for having 1,035 grams charras while Zulqarnain and Asif Hussain were sent behind the bars for possessing 1,025 and 575 grams charras respectively.

Gungmandi Police seized 10 bottles of liquor and netted Jameel while 10 bottles of liquor were also recovered from Umar Daraz.

Bunni Police arrested Rafaqat Javed on recovery of eight liquor bottles and 20 liter wine. Saddar Baroni Police apprehended Jamshaid Khan for carrying 10 liter wine.

Rattaamral Police rounded up Muhammad Adeel as he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Race Course Police nabbed Ali Hamza and recovered four stolen motorcycles.

Muneeb Khan, Adnan, Hameed and Mubeen were netted for having illegal weapons.

Meanwhile, New Town Police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in Pindora area and arrested four persons namely Raja Nisar, Nasir, Ishaq and Abid Ali as they were allegedly involved in betting while playing cards.

The police recovered cash stake money amounting to Rs 15,300, two mobile phone and other items from their possession.

In another raid, Sadiqabad Police raided at a brothel being run in Muslim Town area and rounded up five men and a woman for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.
