Khan urges lawyers to support the struggle for “genuine democracy”

ISLAMABAD-

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan urged lawyers to assist him in bringing “genuine democracy” in the country, a private news channel reported.

Speaking to the lawyers of Islamabad High Court Bar on Thursday, Khan said that Pakistan is passing through a crucial time in order to bring true democracy in the country.

“Pakistan could not prosper because genuine democracy doesn’t exist in the country,”he said.

He reiterated his demands  for probe of alleged rigging in the polls. He also declared that the last year’s elections were a “huge fraud”.

Stating his motive behind the demand of verification of  vote,s Khan said that the probe into last year’s polls is to ensure  free and fair elections in future.

He also stressed the need to hold influential persons accountable.

“In order to put an end to crime, it is necessary to punish criminals,” Khan said, asking “how target killings could stop if target killers were not arrested?”
