ISLAMABAD-

Federal government on Thursday termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) call for opening four constituencies unconstitutional, in a reply to Supreme Court, private media reported.

The Attorney General (AG) office submitted a reply to the apex court hearing PTI’s petition regarding electoral reforms. The reply stated that PTI’s demand for recounting of votes in four constituencies is against the constitution and so the petition is non-maintainable.

It further said the apex court could not hear the petitions pertaining to elections under article 184-3 and only election tribunals could heard such petitions under article 225 while such petitions are already under hearing at the election tribunals.

  1. There we go again! Hide behind the legalities and to hell with the consquences. The more the Govt. stonewalls the more there is to suspect.
