Former law minister presents evidences before media, alleges PTI wants to hide identity of ‘actual killer’, vows to file cases against Imran Khan, other PTI leaders

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah has said that the man implicated by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the murder of PTI activist Haq Nawaz in Faisalabad on Monday is innocent and denied reports that his security guard was involved in the murder.

Sanaullah staged a symbolic court in front of reporters in Faisalabad on Tuesday and presented several of the suspected men alleged to have killed Nawaz.

Sanaullah brought his guard Nadeem Mughal in front of reporters and held up a picture of the gunman, asking those present to compare Mughal and the man seen firing at protestors in television footages.

The PML-N leader said PTI had implicated more than 300 men, including several top PML-N leaders in the first information report (FIR), adding that all the persons accused in the FIR would appear before the investigating team to clear their position.

He said that PTI’s FIR implicated Imtiaz s/o Siraj as the man who had fired on PTI workers. He added that the Punjab Police had found Imtiaz, who was then brought in front of reporters for a comparison with the shooter’s image.

Sanaullah said that by implicating an innocent man, Imtiaz, PTI was trying to protect the actual murderer of Nawaz. He said the Punjab Police would find the perpetrator, and for that several PTI workers will also be questioned. PTI has already been informed in this regard, he said.

Clarifying his position again on PTI claims that Nawaz was shot by his family’s guard, Sana said TV channels caught that man live and National Database Regulatory Authority (NADRA) would soon identify him. He alleged that PTI workers took the body of Nawaz by force from the hospital and brought it to his house on the orders of PTI leaders.

The PML-N leader said Faisalabad was at peace by 11am on December 8, adding that Khan and his men disrupted peace of the city. He said it is part of Khan’s plan ‘C’ to kill one or two persons during every shutdown to create anarchy, derail democracy and impede the country’s development.

Sanaullah said it is possible that the man involved in the murder was a member of some terrorist organisation as intelligence agencies had warned of terrorists striking the protest gatherings.

Sanaullah said he would file a case against PTI leaders including Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umer, Arif Alvi and PTI’s ally Sheikh Rashid for hurling threats at him before departure from Islamabad and for holding meeting for several hours near his residence instead of Ghanta Ghar.

He said another person died on Monday by jumping into the canal when his clothes caught fire while he was burning tyres on the road. His body was taken to Allied Hospital and since than he is untraceable, said Sana.

FUNERAL PRAYERS:

In the meanwhile, funeral prayers for the PTI worker killed in Faisalabad clashes were held on Tuesday and the party observed a countrywide day of mourning.

Several party leaders attended the funeral prayers at Faisalabad’s Pahari Ground. The funeral prayers in absentia of the slain activist will also be offered in other cities.

Per media reports, PTI is planning to hold protests in Karachi, Peshawar, Faisalabad and other parts of the country.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan have also pledged their support for PTI’s call to mourn the killing.
