MQM office bearer shot dead in Sialkot, party announces country-wide protest

SIALKOT-

An office-bearer of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was shot dead by unidentified men in Sialkot on Wednesday, private media reported.

Bao Muhammed Anwar; MQM’s Sialkot District Vice President, was shot outside his restaurants on Shahabpura Road of Sialkot on early morning Wednesday.

He died on the spot while two of his employees were injured.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain expressed grief over the incident, terming it a loss of a ‘sincere friend in Punjab’ and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.

Hussain also demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Chaudhry Muhammed Sarwar to immediately take notice of the killing and arrest the killers.

MQM has announced country-wide protests over the killing.

The CM has taken  notice of the killing and sought report from DPO Sialkot.
