Balochistan Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Frontier Corps (FC) spokesman Khan Wasey was injured in a firing incident on Quetta’s Double Road area on Tuesday.
According to police sources, Wasey was travelling in his car when gunmen opened fire on his vehicle, injuring him seriously. He was rushed to Combined Military Hospital for medical treatment.
According to hospital officials, Wasey received two bullets and his condition was critical.
Police and FC personnel arrived at the scene to investigate the attack. According to police, the assailants sped away on their motorbike after launching the attack in which a 9mm pistol was used.
Law enforcement personnel have launched search operation in the area to arrest the culprits.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. However, militants in the past have targeted security forces and pro-government personalities in the area.
