A Sufi concert was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Monday in which US-based Sufi Qawwali Band Fana Fi-Allah performed.
Directorate of Student Affairs organised the concert in collaboration with US Consulate in Karachi. Tahir Faridi, Amna Chishti, Ali Shan, Jahangir Lali, Saleem Chishti, Abrar Hussain, Fida Hussain, local artist Ali Raza and Abdul Ghaffor Soomro performed the Sufi concert. Aisha Lakhani, Hamza Lakhani and Mohammad Wasif were also present.
The Fana Fi-Allah band performed Sufi songs Allah Allah, Dama Dum Mast Qalandar, Dayar-e-Ishq, Lal Meri Pat Rakhiyo Bhala Jhooly Lal and the Sufi songs of Hazart Sachal Sarmast, Hazrat Amir Khusro and other renowned Sufi poets.
Aisha Lakhani extended her cordial thanks to the SALU administration for providing the opportunity to organise this concert. She said this university is after the name of great Sufi Poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, whose message is universal peace, love and affection.
Hamza Lakhani said the objective of this Sufi concert Fana Fi-Allah is to promote the message of peace, respect, tolerance and love in the world. Moreover, US Consulate tries to promote the people-to-people contact and to bridge the gap between the masses of Pakistan and to promote the soft image of Sufism worldwide.
