FAISALABAD-

Funeral prayers for a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker, who was killed in Faisalabad clashes, were held on Tuesday while the party observed a day of mourning, private media reported.

Several party leaders attended the funeral prayers of the worker, identified as 22-year-old Haq Nawaz, at Faisalabad’s Pahari Ground. The funeral prayers in absentia of the slain activist will also be offered in other cities.

Nawaz died of bullet injuries he sustained in a armed clash between PTI supporters and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters on Monday.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan have also pledged their support for PTI’s call to mourn the killing.

The party is also planning to hold protests in Karachi, Peshawar, Faisalabad and other parts of the country.
