Petrol pump owners fined for measuring less

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration during its surprise inspection of petrol pumps in their respective jurisdictions, imposed a fines worth Rs 85,000 on the owners for less measuring in contravention of weight and measures ordinance.

According to details, Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Waqas Rashid, during checking in Ali Pur Frash area, imposed fines Rs. 40,000 on Gilan CNG and Heakle petrol pump, for less measuring and directed the petrol pump owners to ensure accurate measuring and compliance with the laws failing which stern action would be taken against the violators.

Assistant Commissioner (Rural) Amna Rafique, during checking in Sihala and Rawat area, imposed fines of Rs. 46,000 on five petrol pump owners on account of various violations of laws.

Assistant Commissioner (Sadar), Assistant Commissioner (Industrial Area), Assistant Commissioner (Shalimar) and Assistant Commissioner (City) also conducted inspection of 18 petrol pumps in Golra Sharif, Tarnol, F-8 Markaz, Blue Area, F-6, F-11, G-11, G-8 Markaz, I-8 Markaz, I-9 Markaz and I-9/4 area and found selling petrol on the fixed rates as announced by the Government and no violation found on other accounts.
