The Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai kicked off on Sunday as tens of thousands devotees have reached Bhitshah Town of Matiari district to pay homage to great sufi saint and poet on his 271st three-day annual urs celebrations.
The BhitshahTown has been decorated with colourful buntings while makeshift shops have also been established in the town where the devotees who come from all over Sindh and other parts of the country are busy in shopping of traditional garlands, rings with gems, caps, ajraks, dry fruits and locally made sweets.
Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Culture and Tourism Sharmila Farooqui has inaugurated the three days Urs celebrations by laying chaddar, floral wreath at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latifabad and offering fateha.
She inaugurated the agro-industrial exhibition and the cultural village established by the Sindh Culture department. Besides, adabi conference, musical concert, malakhra, Sigheran ji Katcheri and cattle show will also be the part of the Urs celebrations.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be the chief guest of the concluding ceremony of the Urs and give away prizes. The district administration Matiari has adopted strict security arrangements with deployment of Rangers and Police.
