Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday announced Pakistan A squad for a five-match series against Kenya.

The Kenyan team will arrive in Pakistan on December 10, which will open the door for resumption of international cricket in the country.

All-rounder Fawad Alam will captain Pakistan A. The team also includes Sami Aslam, Sharjeel, Khan , Muhammad Rizwan, Anwar Ali and Hammad Azam.

It may be recalled here that on March 3, 2009, the Sri Lanka team was on its way to the Gaddafi Stadium for the third day of the second Test against Pakistan, when gunmen opened fire and threw grenades at the bus, killing eight people at Liberty roundabout, one-and-a-half kilometres away from the stadium.

The match was abandoned, Sri Lanka left the country the same day, Pakistan was stripped of its right to host the 2011 World Cup and there has been no international cricket in the country since.

For the last four years, Pakistan have been playing their ‘home’ series mostly in the UAE. The Kenyans arrive in Pakistan on Dec. 10 and the series is scheduled to be played from Dec. 13 to 20, 2014.

Pakistan A: Sami Aslam, Sharjeel Khan, Fazal Subhan, Babar Azam, Fawad Alam (Captain), Saad Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Anwar Ali, Hammad Azam, Imran khan, Mohammad Talha, Ehsan Adil, Raza Hasan, Shahzaib Ahmed
