Former dictator’s party contacting Muslim League factions, MQM, Khosa group, others to form united front
Former president and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Chairman Pervez Musharraf said Saturday that a third political force is the need of the hour to take the country out of the present crisis, adding that his party is in contact with other parties to form a united front against the “inefficient” governments of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party.
Addressing the APML women’s wing at the party’s Study Secretariat, Musharraf said institutions have weakened due to the inefficiency of the incumbent PML-N-led government and the previous government led by PPP, adding that the judiciary is not playing its role.
He said that a united front comprising different opposition parties would be formed soon against PML-N and PPP, adding that contacts with PML-Quaid, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), PML-Functional, Khosa group and others are underway in this connection.
“When institutions become weak and the judiciary does not play its role, people take the law in their own hands and stage protests,” said Musharraf.
