LAHORE-

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday submitted evidence to an election tribunal in support of his allegations of rigging in NA-122 in May 2013 general elections, private media reported.

The evidence is against National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq who had won from NA-122, defeating Khan.

While speaking to media, Khan said that all the evidence has been submitted to the tribunal and once it has been inspected, everyone will know of the rigging in the elections.

The election tribunal would decide about recounting of votes on Monday, he added while expressing hopes of getting justice from the tribunal.

According to reports, while recording his statement in the tribunal hearing, Khan said that results of various polling stations were changed, while a huge number of votes were cast without identity cards. He further claimed that the PTI polling agents received threats before the voting ensued.

During the hearing,  Sadiq’s lawyer asked Khan if he got any evidence of rigging in the constituency, over which, Khan replied that the facts would show up after reopening of bags carrying ballot papers.

Earlier, Sadiq’s counsel cross-examined the six witnesses presented by PTI.

The witnesses, polling agents of PTI, had alleged in their written statements that the presiding officers had expelled them from polling booths and put stamps on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s election symbol.
