Musharraf challenges ASC’s jurisdiction in Ghazi murder case

Former president Pervez Musharraf has challenged the jurisdiction of Additional Sessions Court (ASC) in Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali is hearing Lal Masjid Naib Khateeb Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case.

Musharraf’s counsel Akhtar Shah filed an application in the court seeking exemption from attendance for a day.

Shah said that this case cannot be heard in Additional Sessions Court and trial of the case should be conducted in the court of a magistrate.

Additional Sessions Judge Wajid Ali said that he had not received notification on hearing of the case again.

Petitioner’s counsel Tariq Asad said that a copy of district and session’s judge order can be provided to him. The case was remanded back to this court two days ago. The court should give time till 1200 hrs and the copy of the orders would be provided, he added.
