Work on 5 pedestrian overpasses across Ferozpur road to begin next month

Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to construct pedestrian overhead bridges across signal-free Ferozpur Road at five locations with a cost of Rs100 million. Construction work will start during the first week of January and is scheduled to be completed within four months.

Five busy locations under the elevated track of Metro Bus Service, where a large number of pedestrian have to cross the road daily, have been earmarked for this purpose. These points are situated between Qurtaba Chowk and LOS Junction, between Shama Chowk and Ichra Bazar, Shah Jamal Junction, between Shah Jamal Junction and Rehmanpura Mor and at Ghazi Chowk.

Average length of the deck of these bridges will be 45 meters while their width will be 2.8 meters. Stairs of these bridges will be 2.07 meters wide. The elevated track of Metro Bus Service is 7.1 meter higher than road level where as the height of the pedestrian bridge will be 5.2 meters from ground.
