A woman in Muzaffargarh was attacked with acid on Friday after she resisted rape attempts by five men.
The incident took place in a rural area of Qureshi Chowk in Muzaffargarh on Friday.
The five suspects, reportedly belonging to a local feudal family, attempted to kidnap the 30-year-old mother of five from a field where she worked as a daily wage labourer but she fought off the assailants and managed to escape.
However, reports said that the woman was intercepted again by the accused who doused her with acid and fled. She was immediately shifted to the hospital by locals.
A doctor in Nishtar Hospital in Multan said that over 65 per cent of the victim’s body was burnt and that she was in a critical condition.
An FIR has been registered under Section 336B in Chowk Qureshi Police Station under against the five suspects.
