The Punjab government has warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan against adopting unlawful and unconstitutional tactics to carry out his scheduled protests.

“It is a fundamental right of every Pakistani to hold protests but nobody will be allowed to take the law into their hands,” Punjab government spokesman Zaeem Qadri told reporters.

He said that government’s patience must not be misconstrued as its weakness, adding that protests should not deprive the citizens of their right to free movement.

“We warn Imran Khan that the government will utilize all resources to maintain law and order,” he said, adding that it was government’s responsibility to take notice of plans to stage illegal and unconstitutional demonstrations.
