Govt planning on hospital for Islamabad’s rural areas, NA told

Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Maryam Aurangzeb on Friday informed the National Assembly that a proposal is being considered by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration to establish a new hospital and a diagnostic laboratory for the rural areas of the Islamabad.

“PC-1 of project titled ‘Establishment of Islamabad General Hospital at Tarlai’ at an estimated cost of Rs1,920 million was submitted to Planning Development and Reforms (PD&R) Division on January 2014 for approval of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP),” she said during question hour of the NA.

She said the PD&R Division approval is awaited. However, in the current financial year, a token fund of Rs1 million has been allocated for the project, she added.
