China holds first-ever food festival in capital

China Radio International (CRI-Dosti channel) held first-ever food festival last night at a local hotel, further promoting people-to-people relationship, through its famous cuisine and food recipes.

The Chinese Cuisine Association’s office-bearers and chefs especially travelled to Pakistan to demonstrate the cooking of the Chinese food.

It was the part of on-going efforts of promoting relationship of love and brotherhood between the people of two countries, through common cultural heritage and the food.

Food-taste and food-habits contribute a lot in bringing comfort and enjoyment in relationship, said Chinese envoy to Pakistan Sun Weidong who was the chief guest on the occasion. He noted that Chinese cuisine is loved the world-over and it is equally popular in Pakistan.

There are a quite good number of Chinese restaurants in many parts of the country that present variety of Chinese rich food with Pakistani-touch. He hoped that the food-festival arranged by the CRI will make a new beginning in promoting common food-taste and cultural values among the people.

CRI’s senior correspondent of its Urdu service Qianting Wang who was also here for arranging the food carnival said it was a manifestation of their love and association with the Pakistani people.

CRI is proud of its decades’ old efforts of promoting spirit of love and understanding at the peoples’ level.

Qianting with her Urdu name Musrat, who had earlier served in Pakistan, said she was highly impressed by Pakistanis for their warmth and love towards China and Chinese food.

The Chinese ambassador further said that Pakistan China have a long history. Their friendship withstood the test of time and is deeply rooted in the people’s hearts. The food, he said reflects diversity of Chinese culture.

The Chinese government and the people attached great importance to their relations with Pakistan and wished these should keep growing on fast pace in all fields of common interest. He expressed confidence that Sino-Pak all-round strategic partnership will be a source of peace, stability and prosperity in the region and meet the common aspirations of their people for their well-being and bright-future.
