Peshawar/Karachi: students chant “Go Nawaz Go”

The voices of  “Go Nawaz Go” slogan are resonating in academic institutions of Karachi and Peshawar, according to the reports of private media.

The first incident took place in Karachi when the students of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) and workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chanted ‘Go Nawaz Go’ during  a visit by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal to the university in Karachi.However, no action was taken against the students by university authority.

Another incident occurred in Peshawar when a group of  Pakhtun Students Federation(PkSF) activists shouting ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogans  passed by a gathering of Muslim Students Federation (MSF). Soon , the mobs turned violent, leading to an armed clash.

According to the police sources, a student belonging to (MSF), named Bilal Khan was injured. The injured student was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Previously, a professor of Balochistan University had also chanted this slogan when members of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) distributed laptops to students.

The controversial slogan ,introduced by PTI chairman Imran Khan, has become a buzzword for anti-government protesters.
