Education system incapable of meeting modern challenges: minister

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said that the present education system does not meet with the trends and challenges of modern era.

He said the National Curriculum Council had been constituted to review education syllabus and to develop it to international standard. The federal minister was addressing the gathering during a visit to Sindh Madaressatul Islam University (SMIU) on Wednesday. He said efforts were also being made for standardisation of examination systems in all education boards.

Ahsan Iqbal said mobility was the spirit of education and one of the objectives of education was to provide mobility to students, so that no question be raised on the worth of their degrees.

He also said that improvement in the schools education was imperative to develop the education. The federal minister also called for developing a positive thinking in the youths. He said: “we will have to bring stability in the country to attract foreign investors.”

He called upon the media to present positive and healthy image of Pakistan to the world.
