Visually-impaired and disabled protesters were baton-charged by police on Wednesday in Lahore, private media reported.
According to details, the a protest rally; demanding employment quote for the blind and disabled, was en-route for the Chief Minister House when it was stopped by police personnel on Davis Road and was subjected to baton-charge.
Following the incident, the protestors staged a sit-in on Mall Road, leading to a traffic jam.
Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the incident, and ordered to suspend the policemen and conduct an inquiry.
Five policemen have been suspended following the CM’s orders.
