Qadri to leave for US today for treatment

*PAT spokesman says Dec 25 rally in Karachi postponed

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri will leave for US today after a team of doctors declared his health condition “unsatisfactory”.

According to party sources, a panel of five doctors, comprising three Pakistanis and two foreigners, conducted medical check up of the PAT chief who is suffering from high blood pressure and heart ailment.

“The doctors were of the view that his condition is unsatisfactory, so we have decided to shift him abroad,” the PAT spokesman said.

Sources said that the PAT chief is expected to board a flight leaving for Huston at 9am.

Because of his illness, Qadri has deferred his public meeting that was scheduled to be held on December 25 and would announce the new dates soon.
