Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said Monday that a few people want to “spread anarchy” by holding protest demonstrations across the country.

In a veiled attempt to lambast cricketer-turned-politician Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Zardari said, “Politics is not a T20 or one day cricket match; it is a test match,” adding that he (Zardari) is a test player.

Without naming Khan, Zardari said, “We are facing a devil that neither has head nor feet,” and advised the fast bowler to wait till the ball gets old “which will produce better results”.

“Spinners, on the other hand, can bowl over 10 overs in a single spell,” said the PPP leader.

“The fast bowler gets frustrated very easily when he fails to take quick wickets,” said Zardari, referring to Khan’s attempts to topple the government.
