JUI-F protestors demand arrest of Soomro’s killers

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) held a rally in Sukkur on Monday against the killing of its leader Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro.

Leaders and activists of the party started a march from Eidgah to the local press club, where they raised slogans against the murder of their party leader and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Ghafoor Mengal and Abdul Ghafar Qureshi said that Soomro was killed through a “pre-planned conspiracy in a bid to stop his struggle for the rights of Sindh”.

“The enemies of Sindh did not want to hear him raise his voice for the rights of the people of Sindh and that is why they killed him,” said the JUI-F leader.

They alleged that the government was not taking steps for the arrest of Soomro’s killers.

“If the killers are not arrested, we will widen the scope of the protest across the country,” the JUI-F leaders concluded.
