CDA approves additional block in Capital Hospital

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has formally approved the construction of five-storey additional block in Capital Hospital to facilitate the patients and has initially allocated Rs 100 million for the said project.

This was decided during a high level meeting chaired by CDA chairman at CDA headquarters. Member Administration Amer Ali Ahmed, Executive Director Capital Hospital Doctor Asif Ali, Director Administration Capital Hospital, senior doctors of Capital Hospital and officers of the relevant formations also attended this meeting.

The CDA chairman, while approving the said project said that the additional block is being built to accommodate and facilitate maximum number of patients.

The Capital Hospital executive director apprised that the additional block will be five-storey building which was initially planned to have 70 beds, however on the directions of CDA chairman the number of beds have been increased to 100. He further informed that establishment of new cardiac centre at Capital Hospital will save almost Rs 25 million of CDA which were spent on referring CDA employees to other hospitals of the city and it will also be a source of revenue as private patients will also be accommodated in this cardiac centre.

He further told the meeting that up-gradation and extension of Capital Hospital will not only facilitate thousands of CDA’s serving and retired employees but private patients with state of the art medical facilities. He further apprised that the existing operation theatre will be up-graded and provided with latest tools and machinery with the facility to manage four operations at the same time.

The CDA chairman directed the Capital Hospital executive director to induct staff for Angioplasty and Cath lab to facilitate the patients. He further directed for immediate preparation of PC-I of the project. He also directed to publish the tender notice for up-gradation of operation theatre and establishment cardiac centre so that it could be completed up to March next year.
