Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) disgruntled leaders Zulfiqar Khosa and Ghaus Ali Shah on Monday lashed out at the senior leadership of their party, criticising it for bestowing government positions to cronies of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf while ignoring steadfast party loyalists.

Addressing a joint press conference, the two senior leaders said the PML-N used to be a democratic party but it stood divided now because of the autocratic attitude of the Sharif brothers who wanted to singlehandedly run the country.

“Sit-ins and protests in the country are the outcomes of the ‘wounds’ that people have suffered due to unjust governance of the PML-N leadership,” said Ghaus.

Khosa said that the PML-N workers do not have access to the top leadership as the Centre and important ministries in Punjab have been occupied by “people from Lahore”. “The Punjab government has ignored the Pothohar and Southern Punjab regions and is focussing only on developing Lahore,” said Khosa.
