ISLAMABAD-
A larger bench of the Supreme Court will be hearing the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification case on December 8, private media reported,
The seven-member larger bench, presided by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, will head the case on identical petitions by Advocate Gohar Nawaz Sindhu, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ishaq Khakwani and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML_Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
On Wednesday, CJP Nasir-ul-Mulk constituted a larger bench after a three-member bench referred the case to the Chief Justice on November 10.
The petitioners seek PM to be disqualified for the public office over his August 29 speech in joint parliament session in which he allegedly misstated facts about army chief’s role as a mediator between government and protesting parties.
The bench will hear petitions in the light of Article 62, 63 and 66 of the Constitution which deals with eligibility of a candidate to hold a a public office.
Supreme Court could only punish PPP PM ,they can not do any thing to Nawaz Sharif because PML N is an Punjab Party .
Go Away Nawaz, Go Away Zardari, Go Nawaz Go
What a waste of tax payers money. The Supreme Court will only give a rap on the knuckles of Nawab Shariff. He has been backsliding all the time. According to him it was a off the cuff statement in a charged atmosphere. The S.C . might give a technical knock out but hardly a political K.O.
