LHC moved to try Sheikh Rashid for treason

The Lahore High Court (LHC) was moved on Friday seeking registration of treason case against Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

Imtiaz Ahmed, a common citizen, petitioned the court seeking the seasoned politician’s trial for treason blaming him for inciting violence.

The petitioner stated that Rashid, an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has attempted to harm the country’s integrity through his provoking public speeches.

The move comes two days before PTI’s Nov 30 rally in Islamabad for which Khan has called his ‘tigers’ to gather in the federal capital for a ‘decisive’ showdown.
