Investigate PDA’s useless projects

In 2008, the heavy NATO Afghan transit traffic had created long queues on the Karkhano Market Road in Peshawar, leading to the Afghanistan border. The then ANP government decided to extend this road and a project was initiated through the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA).

For five years I saw this ‘expansion work’ and was flabbergasted to see the wastage of public money on useless work by the PDA. Instead of expanding the road, the PDA spent millions on constructing a water drain by the Karkhano Road. The ironic thing is that there was already a water drain, and even after the completion of this low quality new drain by the PDA, this drain is still in use.

Sadly this low quality water drain, completed in five years, could not stand the environment of Peshawar and was soon seen deteriorating into rubble. After only one year, this water drain has either completely collapsed or covered up by dirt. It has never been used for water drainage during all this time.

I therefore would like to request NAB to please investigate this useless project of PDA and find out who was involved in this wastage of public money, who approved the project, who designed it, who checked the quality and why no one from PDA has investigated this corruption.
