SIALKOT
The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday, yet again, resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on Sialkot’s Charwa sector, a private news channel reported.
According to Pakistan Rangers officials, Indian troops fired shells on Pakistani check-posts and villages along the border. Pakistani forces retaliated to the firing, silencing the Indian guns, they added.
More than 20 civilians have been killed and several houses destroyed since the worst frontier shelling by Indian troops broke out in October.
Rangers say India has broken all previous records of the shelling at the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary , firing more than 31500 mortar shells, more than that of fired in 1971 war between the two countries.
