Bajaur girls case: court accepts bail request of three accused

Judicial Magistrate Central Court on Friday granted bail to three indicted persons in Bajaur girls case, who were arrested for illegally handing over around 36 juvenile girls to a family over debt recovery dispute, a private news channel reported.

The three accused persons, including seminary owner Hameeda Bibi had moved the bail application. The court accepted the plea and bail was granted in lieu of the surety bond of Rs 50,000 for Hameeda Bibi and Rs 100,000 for her accomplices.

Next hearing of the case will take place on December 10.

On November 26, police had discovered 36 minor girls from Liaqatabad C-1 area, as complained by the residents. The girls, belonging to tribal area, were handed over to the family by a  teacher  and  supervisor of the seminary over non-payment of debt. Following the recovery, the girls were sent to a shelter home in Karachi.
