KATHMANDU-
Pakistan will host the 19th summit of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in Islamabad.
This was announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in his address to the 18th SAARC summit being held in the Nepal’s capital.
“Pakistan is pleased to host the next SAARC Summit in Islamabad,” Prime Minister said.
Pakistan attaches high importance to SAARC and is committed to its process. It supports the broad objectives of the Charter, which envisages promoting the welfare of the people of South Asia.
Pakistan has played a proactive role to make SAARC a model of regional cooperation, based on the principles of sovereign equality.
