IHC moved against arrest of PTI workers, imposition of Section 144

The Islamabad High  Court (IHC) has been moved against possible arrest of PTI leadership and workers, erecting barriers and containers on all the routes of Islamabad and imposition of Section 144 by district administration in federal capital on the eve of November 30 protest sit in by PTI.

PTI MNA Asad Umar has filed the petition making interior ministry through secretary, ministry of law and parliamentary affairs, IG Police Islamabad, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad as respondents.

The petitioner has taken the plea that PTI had announced to hold Azadi March during its public meeting at Bahawalpur. PTI started its Azadi March from Lahore and staged sit in before parliament. Over 100 days have been elapsed after holding sit in by PTI but neither any security problem has been created in Islamabad nor any damage was caused to state buildings. PTI has announced to hold peaceful public meeting on November 30 against the government to protest against non acceptance of its demands but the government and Islamabad police are trying to stop it. PTI leaders are being arrested, workers are being harassed and containers are being placed to block entry of people.

A single bench of IHC led by Justice Athar Minnallah will hear this case today (Thursday).
