Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday met Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss matters relating to national security.
According to official sources, internal security and fight against terrorism came under discussion during the meeting.
The meeting took place ahead of Sharif’s visit to Nepal where he is expected to attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit. He is also scheduled to meet other leaders on the sidelines of the summit.
This was the second meeting between the prime minister and Akhtar after the latter took office as director general of the ISI.
